Mantu Kalita, is the program manager of Jorhat Area office in Assam. He says "My journey of life started at Bagata, a small village in Kamrup District, approximately 30 kms from Guwahati, where I was born in a family of four, father, mother and two brothers. My father, who worked as a tailor, was the sole bread earner."
He did not have a strong financial background; it was his strong will that helped him pursue education. To continue his further studies, he moved to Guwahati and started working in a grocery shop to support his education.
He could not continue his study after completing standard 12th because of dearth of time and money.
He worked for many companies but could not align himself to the work culture as he does not believe in settling for anything less than the best.
After working for a period of one and half year, he came to know about Ujjivan.
Mantu says: "The background of the Company attracted me a lot."
Mantu joined Ujjivan's Mawlai Branch as Customer Representative Staff. He exhibited consistent delivery and acute intent to succeed. He was promoted as a cashier within 3 months. He worked as cashier in Lokhora, Maligaon, Khanapara, Bamunimaidan branches.
He got promoted as the CRM of Sualkuchi Branch. He was relocated to Azara and Dispur branches where he handled CRM's role efficiently. Dispur branch won the best branch consecutively for three quarters during his tenure as CRM there. Mantu says: "All this has been possible because of the tremendous energy of the team, the unity among all the staff and planning." Mantu was extremely happy when he and his team got the opportunity to have lunch with Mr. Samit Ghosh, MD and CEO, Ujjivan.
Ujjivan congratulates Mantu on completion of 5 years of valuable service and also for being promoted as program manager of Jorhat cluster.
"I hope I will be able to carry out this new role with due diligence and sincerity. My father always had a dream of seeing me work with bank, and I strongly hope that I can fulfil my father's dream when Ujjivan becomes a bank. At last I would like to thank Ujjivan for helping me out to explore and improve myself."
