We initiated our community development programs with a focus on small but high impact projects, such as repairing water pumps and tanks in schools, upgrading local government hospitals, paving hill tracks, rain-water harvesting, building bus stands and building and repairing school toilets. Our community development programs are undertaken in consultation with our customers to address critical local community needs, and has resulted in the elevation of the quality of life for customers and their families. During the initial years, we also focused on upgrading government established 'anganwadis' (creches).
However, last year in response to the 'Swacch Bharat' mission of the GoI, we switched our attention to building and renovating toilets, especially for the girl child in government schools. As a result, during Financial Year 2015 we built or renovated 266 toilets in schools across the country investing over `12.3 million in the process.
